Lift Maintenance Mechanics ensure the safety and reliability of our lifts by monitoring, maintaining and repairing lift equipment in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. The ideal candidate holds a competent mechanical/electrical skill set and demonstrates an ability to positively work as part of a larger team. **There is a $2000 sign-on bonus, split and paid out $1000 after 6 months of work and $1000 after 12 months of work.**RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and repair all lift equipment, ranging from conveyors to high-speed detachable quads. Duties during the winter operating season include regularly scheduled maintenance, pre-operational, mid-day, weekly, and monthly inspections as well as responding to lift breakdowns. The summer season includes a thorough inspection of all lift components, tower work, and grip and chair maintenance. Work on hydraulic systems, braking systems, rigging, gasoline and diesel engines up to 900 Hp, as well as low voltage safety circuits. QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of mechanical or electrical experience. Detachable lift experience is a plus. Must be able to work under timelines and pressure. Must be able and willing to work independently as well as part of a larger team. Adherence to all safety policies and procedures is a must. This job requires the ability to climb and work at substantial heights and in all kinds of weather. Must be able to lift and carry loads up to 100 pounds. Valid driver's license necessary. Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment system testing, record results in logbooks / computer systems and make necessary chemical adjustments as required. Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make necessary repairs as required. Inspect motor, belts, fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions in accordance with maintenance procedures. Performing basic welding activities to effect repairs on facilities and equipment.Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other equipment parts in accordance with work procedures and technical manual. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. QualificationsWhat we’re looking for: High school and/or GED is preferred.Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age.Knowledgeable in industrial maintenance of facilities and equipment.Minimum of 1 year of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required. Applicable military experience will be considered. Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment.Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required.Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English required. Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills is required. Have the flexibility to get paid dailyPromoting from within – 95% of upper-level management started out in an entry-level positionTuition ReimbursementEmployee Discount – 50% off most services for up to 2 vehiclesPaid vacation and holidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) Savings plan*Terms and conditions apply and benefits may differ depending on locationResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or questions.Perform oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication services for vehicles.Inspect vehicles for any potential issues or areas that require attention.Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as tire rotations and fluid level checks.Basic computer knowledge/aptitudeKeep track of inventory and ensure all supplies are readily available.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.RequirementsAttention to detail and ability to follow instructions.Excellent problem-solving skillsStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.Able to learn and follow the VIOC SuperPro process for all services.Achieve SuperPro certification.Must have reliable transportation.Essential FunctionsInspecting and replacing car lights and wipers.Check fluid levels and add fluids to vehicle when necessary.Inspect/replace engine air filter and cabin air filter.Add oil to engine in the proper amount based on specifications of vehicle make/model.Able to remove/rotate/lift/reinstall tires for tire rotation service.Lubricate necessary components of the chassis/driveline.Perform additional services on cooling systems and transmissions.Perform second checks by visually verifying and performing proper callouts to ensure all necessary services have been performed correctly.Able to move from bay to bay to perform services on multiple vehicles.Frequently ascends/descends stairs/catwalks/stepstools to retrieve vehicle parts (filters, wipers, etc.) or perform services top side or underneath the vehicle (drain oil, replace filter, differential services, lubrication)Able to work for extended periods of time with arms above your head when performing services underneath the vehicle on a catwalk.Constantly positions self to perform required services under the hood, related to tires, or on catwalk working underneath the vehicle.Able to move/transport items up to approximately 50 pounds.Able to work with tools to perform duties in tight sometimes hard to reach areas.Communicate verbally and receive verbal communication to ensure services are performed accurately, safely and in the proper order.EnvironmentIn this position you will be subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside and in varying temperature conditions.In this position you will be subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.In this position you will be subject to hazards.
